Do you know someone who would make a great officer of the church?
Every year, our Nominating Committee prayerfully prepares the list for the upcoming class of Deacons, Elders, and Members-at-large.
Serving as a church officer is a meaningful way to deepen your connection with our NWPC family and respond to God’s call to love and serve.
It is both an invitation and a blessing to “show up” in faith, offering your gifts for the good of our church community.
How does the Nominating process work?
We invite you, as a member of our congregation, to prayerfully consider who among our congregation reflects the heart and character of a servant leader.
Approach these individuals and share with them why you sense God may be calling them into leadership, encouraging them to hold your words in prayerful reflection.
When you’re ready, please complete the Nomination Form by June 30th to share their names with the Nominating Committee.
Together, we trust God’s guidance every step of the way.
Deacons are the hands and feet of Jesus, serving individuals in our congregation and community with compassion and care. Their ministry encompasses prayer, attending to the sick, elderly, and bereaved, and organizing acts of service. Through collaborative relationships and practical support, Deacons build bridges of hope and kindness within our church family.
Elders serve alongside the Pastor within the Session, the spiritual leadership team for our church. They carry the vision and mission of NWPC, prayerfully discerning God’s Word and guiding us in faith and action. Elders are entrusted with shaping policy, exercising leadership and discipline, and shepherding the congregation—strengthening and nurturing our church’s faith and life, and setting a Christ-like example for all.
Elders are ordained leaders, called by the congregation to serve three-year terms. They affirm the core beliefs of our Reformed faith, remain active and supportive members of NWPC, and commit to the life and mission of the church—including a monthly time investment of about 6–7 hours. Their service is a response to God’s grace, enriching the church and community.
