Music at NWPC plays a very important part in the worship experience. Each service offers a variety of both traditional hymns, contemporary praise music and a wide variety of ensemble music.
Our Ensembles
The Sanctuary Choir – The Sanctuary Choir is made up of members of the congregation. The choir practices on Thursday evening, 7:00-8:30pm and sings weekly at the 9:00am service, September through June. On a weekly basis, the choir studies many different types of music. From classical liturgical pieces to spirituals and contemporary praise songs, the choir is consistently learning new material and honing their skills.
Special occasions include the annual Christmas Cantata. Accompanied by instrumentalists, the choir re-enacts the birth of Christ through music and narration. Other special music occasions include Easter and Music Appreciation Sunday.
The Children’s Choir – The Children’s choir sings during worship several times throughout the year. The choir is composed of children, ages 2-6th grade. The children practice on Sunday morning, after the morning worship service and then perform at the 9:00am worship service throughout the year.
The Contemporary Music Team – The Contemporary Music Team leads the congregation in singing modern worship songs each Sunday. The Team is led by Keith Rounds on guitar and includes Pastor Mark and Emma Studer on guitar, Suzanne Zak on Keyboards, and Debbie Flick, Melissa Meade, and Anita Lyndaker-Studer on vocals.
Handbells – On special occasions, we have a beautiful three octave handbell set. Groups have included teens and adults.
